Learning Tip: Tell me more
When your child communicates by pointing or using a single word, encourage more.
For example, if your child points at a kitchen cupboard, you might ask: What do you want from the cupboard? Do you want some cereal? Which kind of cereal do you want? What should we put the cereal in?
