Activity: Trace and sort shapes

Notecards or heavy paper, magazines, safety scissors, glue

Cut out different shapes from cards for your child. Tell her the names of all the shapes as you show her your cutouts. Encourage her to use safety scissors to cut out the same shapes from magazines. Ask her to glue all the circles on one blank piece of paper, the squares on the next and so forth.
