Activity: How many scoops does it take?

Assortment of different sized jars, dry rice, scoop, tape

Assemble a few jars or plastic food storage containers of different sizes and shapes. With tape, mark off different fill levels on the jars. Then ask your child to estimate how many scoops of rice it will take to fill each jar to line. Which jar will take the most scoops? Which will take the least? Let her test the predictions.
