Colored paper or blank cards, colored markers or crayons, stencils or stamps and ink pads (optional)

Decorate greeting cards or placemats with a patterned border design with special shapes that relate to the special day (birthdays, holidays, seasons). Leave out one shape in the pattern and ask your child to fill it in.
