Activity: CVC word riddles

Ask your child to think of a word that begins with g and rhymes with net. Have your child say, get-net, and spell each word. Repeat this procedure for words in the -ad, -en, -ig, -ot, and -ub families. Try different initial consonant letters. Together, decide if each word is or is not a “real” word.
