Activity: The "Gimme" Game
- Materials:
- Balls, blocks, and other small objects your baby can hold
- Time:
- 30 minutes
- Skills:
- First Words
Around 6 months of age a baby can begin to connect a spoken word with its meaning. Once your baby can grasp palm-sized objects you can place a small ball and a block in front of her and ask her to give you the ball. Don’t be discouraged if this is too challenging at first. Keep revisiting this game and she’ll be able to play along. Change the two objects once she has mastered the first two.
